Today's Featured Biography
Barbie Roe Herrington
Well I have my hands full so I am asking my wonderful husband to type this for me as I dictate what I want to say. Whit and I have had 48 wonderful years together and have had three children together and now we have 5 grandchildren. Our lives have been filled with wonderful experiences as we moved almost every three years during the first twenty years of our marriage. From Taft to Belton, to Corpus, to Albuquerque, to Costa Mesa, to Wichita Falls, to Olney, and finally to Missouri City for 25 years. Being a minister’s wife is so exhilarating. They all were such thrilling experiences. I just wish I could do them all again. While we were in Wichita Falls, Whit allowed me to go back to school and get my degree in Elementary Education. He’s such a generous guy you know. Once we were settled in Missouri City he allowed me again to finish my M.A. in Elementary Administration. I have been a principal in Fort Bend ISD for the past 14 years. Whit thinks that next year may be my last. He is so considerate. Right now I am at Oakland Elementary which I opened a year ago as the 40th elementary school in FBISD. We do like to travel. Since we have lived here we have been to Laredo, Ben Bolt, and Agua Dulce. Oh yes, we did make a trip to Freer. Well, I don’t want you all to feel too envious so I will stop and get Whit, my wonderful husband, to put this on my page in the website for the 58th class reunion.
And folks, that is exactly the way she dictated it to me.
