Today's Featured Biography
Richard Berry
Well, hard to believe that it’s been twenty years. Nothing like hitting middle age to cheer you up.
Life’s been good and bad over the years. After graduating, spent a few years at Abbott, where I learned the fine art of Drinking and Slacking off. Then off to University in Thunder Bay, where I mastered the art in even colder weather. Since the school thing obviously wasn’t going to work out, I spent a couple of years passing time on the West Islland(playing ball and working a nothing job) before heading out west to “find myself”. Landed a job at an import company and climbed the ladder to middle management. Got wooed over to my current company, an importer/distributor of almost everything where I’ve been the operations manager for 5 years or so. Company is growing fast so there are always problems to solve, although pushing paper and working long hours has only made me fatter and lazier than ever.
Married my best friend Shelley almost 8 years ago and we are still pretty much in Honeymoon mode. Her son is out here as well, so we have our little family unit that works pretty well. We’ve been through some tough times in the last few years, I’ve had two major back surgeries (and my wife actually put up with me), and we’ve had had to deal with the caring for, and passing of both my parents and Shelley’s mom to cancer. I guess we are coming out of these bad times, and if nothing else, maybe appreciate the small things a little more.
So for now, I’ll continue with the job, do a little golfing and travel & hang out with my lovely wife, and maybe even see everyone next summer. Take Care All.
