Today's Featured Biography
Renee Jeter Gardner
Hmmm....there's been a WHOLE lifetime between then and now...no way to contain it all in this one space! But here's to trying...
After leaving K-town, I arrived in Biloxi, MS where I graduated. Immediately following graduation, I moved to Alabama to attend Auburn University. Shortly after my arrival I met what the man I eventually married. Somewhere along the way, school got put aside for another day. Twenty years later, I am a single mom, working and going to school full time to finally get that degree.
I have three wonderful kids. Amanda is 26 and is working on her second degree. She decided the first one wasn't what she wanted to do. Her husband was just deployed for round II to the Middle East, so the timing is okay. Robert has just been accepted into Florida State University and has been invited to their honors program. Because he has been taking courses at the local community college, he will start FSU as a sophomore. It's all pretty exciting. My baby, Stephanie, is a Junior in HS this year and is already taking college courses as well. She is promising to stay close to home for college so "I can always live at home, mom!"...yeah, it's okay, though. I always said the same thing to my folks. It won't be long before she rethinks her position.
Me? Well....I work an awful lot. I study an awful lot, too. And I reach out to old friends and try to touch base. I spend alot of time with my parents and current friends, and visit the beach whenever I can...sadly, that's not often enough since I live less than 4 miles from it.
Anyway, that's about all for me...this form will timeout on me soon. :)
Hope to touch base with some of my friends from HS soon!
