I started working right out of high school until I could decide what I wanted to go to school for. At the time I thought I was making enough money, so I decided to get married and have children. I married Anita Myhill (Lathrop class of 1989) in August of 1989. We had our first child, Cyle, in 1990 and our second child, Katelyn, in 1992. Just what we wanted, a boy and a girl, the boy first, and the children two years aparts. One birthday is April 13th and the other is April 1st two years later, how is that for family planning?

My son just graduated from Lathrop, 20 years after I graduated. My daughter is 16 and will start driving soon. Two more years and both the kids will be out of high school. I'll only be 40 and have the freedom to travel more.

I had been working construction in town, but was tired of seasonal work. I decided to take a position on the North Slope with Doyon Drilling to earn enough money to go back to school. Well, I advanced quickly and never looked back. I changed companies in 2000 to Halliburton Energy Services (Sperry-Sun) and worked as a Measurement While Drilling engineer for 6 years. I made an internal move to a Directional Driller position 3 years ago. I normally work on the slope, but have been working in Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota lately. I'm having fun working in different areas and may look at working overseas.


We have a houseful of animals also. They all seem to come in twos like our children. We have two horses, two dogs, and two cats. Since my wife has the horses, we needed a home with enough area to have the horses. We were going to build a house, but found one that we decided to fix up. We live off Farmers Loop here in Fairbanks. Hopefully we can have some people over to visit during the reunion.
