Today's Featured Biography
Phillip Terry
I moved to Harrison Arkansas from Yuma Arizona after my junior year in HS and graduated from Harrison High School in 1960. Attended the University of Ark graduating with a B.S. in Physics and was commissioned as a 2Lt.USAF in 1964. My first assignment was graduate school at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio where I earned an M.S. in Nuclear Physics in 1966 and went on with my Air Force Career. In the USAF I served at Washington D.C in Intelligence at the National level, had two tours in ICBMs and two others in research and engineering, retiring in 1984 as a Major. I also had a family with a son and daughter. My daughter is married and works as a Director for Dow Jones. My son is married and works as a DP Manager for Columbia Sports. I very much would like to re-link with friends from Yuma Az, Fayetteville Ark, and Omaha Ne.
Military
My ROTC summer camp was at Williams AFB, AZ. Wright-Patterson AFB for graduate school and the Foreign Technology Division(Nuclear Weapons), next the Defense Intelligence Agency in DC Nuclear Weapons Division, then on to ICBM duty at Whiteman AFB, mo. Next I was sent to Space and Missile Systems Office in LA where I worked on requirements for the MX warhead then back to missiles. My last assignment was at the 544th Strategic Intelligence Wing at SAC HQ at Offutt AFB Ne. Had 4 tdy's to Korean and got to see where my dad served in the Korean War. Also had 3 tdy's to Europe in support of NATO forces and went to Ramstein AFB in Germany, Lake Garda in Italy and Karrup AB in Denmark. Everyplace I went in Europe we served our duty in old German Bunkers. Very interesting.
After retiring, I worked as a contract computer consultant for almost 20 years in Kansas City. My favorite fun place to go was Cancun Mexico and I did live in Ciudad Cancun for a few months in 2004 and 2005. I have put some of my photos of Mexico on CancunEscape.com. My wife and I now live in Pensacola Florida, a Navy town where during the season, the Blue Angels fly over our house every Tuesday and Wednesday at around 500 ft altitude. Cool, they are hot! I am learning to fish in the Gulf and so far my most exciting catch was an octopus. It climbed into the boat as I tried to real it in. Fun!
