Terry Cox

After leaving Hamilton Hi I was given a track scholarship to Oregon State University. In my senior year I broke the OSU Pole Vault record with a jump of 15'9". I received a BA in Education/Psychology. Graduated in 1965.

After college I joined the United States Marine Corps as an officer (Captain). I spent a tour of duty in Vietnam as a RIO (radar intercept officer) in a two man fighter jet...F4B Phantom. My pilot and I were shot down in Mid 1968 in South Vietnam. We were eventually rescued under heavy enemy fire but I was injured during the ejection. I was medivaced to the US and operated on for a back injury. I flew over 300 missions, received 23 air metal and a purple heart.

I left the Marine Corps in 1970 and worked at several jobs: Executive Director of a local YMCA in Long Beach, Sale Manager of a Distribution system and for 20 years worked as a Vice President of Sales & Marketing for a Manufacturing Co. (Pelican Products) in Torrance. I retired in 2005.

I am now enjoying my retirement while continuing to work with the Marine Corps, studying Magic (I am a Member of the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA), playing my guitar (I entertained with a folk group while at OSU) and spending time with my grandchildren.

I recently wrote a book "PRIDE - A Journey That Changed My Life". This is a bio of my life and goes over my time growing up in the 50's and 60's, my time in the Marine Corps and Vietnam. The book is available on Amazon, Borders, Barns and Nobles and Lulu's.

I live in a beautiful home with my wife in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA overlooking the Los Angeles area and it's surrounding cities.
