Today's Featured Biography

Kristy Gulyas

Sep. 2003 to May 2004
- attended Miramar Community College
July 2004
- moved with brother and parents to a
brand new home in Gilbert, AZ.
- transfered to Chandler-Gilbert
Community College majoring in
Elementary Education.
January 2005
- moved into my own dorm at one of ASU's
three campuses to live on my own
May 2006
- Graduated from Chandler-Gilbert
Community College with my
Associates Degree in Elementary
Education.
- Moved back in with my parents to start
saving money for when I student teach.
- Turned 21!!!
August 2006
- Began attending ASU Polytechnic's
School of Educationl Innovation and
Teacher Preporation. Working towards my
BA in Elementary Education.
November 13, 2006
- Hit head on at 55 mph by drunk driver
who was also under the influence of
multiple prescription pills she'd taken
illegally. Received 3 broken bones in my
left foot, a fractured sturnum, a gash
in my right knee, which as of Aug. 2007
is just finally starting to regain the
nerves back, and severe bruising on both
legs from the knees down. I did 2 1/2
months of physical therapy while using a
wheel chair for a week, a walker for 1
1/2 months, and a cane for 2 to 3 weeks.
January 2007
- Got a brand new car to replace the one
dimalished in the accident: 2007 Saturn
Vue...Green.
August 2007
- I'm all healed now from the accident,
with still some pain in my left foot. I
don't know if it's permanent yet, and
neither do the doctors.
- Paid off the new car.
- Paid off my student loans
- Took and passed both exams required to
be certified to teach in Arizona.
January 2008
- Expected to begin student teaching
May 2008
- Date of expected graduation from ASU
Polytechnic with my BA and teaching
credential in Elementary Education.
- Planning to go to Ireland for at least
a week, maybe longer, as my graduation
gift from my folks.
August 2008
- Expecting to start my first year as a
teacher
- Planning to purchase my first home...
A great condo w/attached garage in
central phoenix, az.
