Today's Featured Biography
Nhu Tran
Nhu Tran enters her ninth season with the San Diego Padres and fifth as the club's community relations manager after serving as the Promotions and Special Events assistant. A San Diego native, Nhu joined the Padres'organization as a ticket seller in 1997. From 1997-1998, she served as a ticket seller, 1999-2000, she served in the Promotions/Special Events department overseeing the Pad Squad and Friar before being promoted to the Community Relations department and named Community Relations Manager in 2003. The Community Relations team coordinates the Padres many other community outreach initiatives, facilitates the charitable efforts of the Padres' players and coaches, and supports thousands of local and national charities though the donation of cash, tickets, memorabilia and player visits. In her current position, Nhu oversees the Padres' Speakers Bureau, community outreach matters, in addition to the day-to-day game day duties.
She serves on the Board of Directors for Volunteer San Diego, a non-profit organization that helps individuals, families, and corporate and community groups find volunteer opportunities at more than 800 diverse service organizations and schools throughout the county and is currently a wish granter and volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego, in honor of her brother who had Leukemia. Nhu is a graduate of Mira Mesa High School and San Diego State University, from which she received a dual degree in sociology and business administration.
