Today's Featured Biography
Alfred Gagnon
Did not Graduate with the class of 1964 but attended summer school to make up 3 class's. Worked at a gas station for about a year and was an assist Manager (Big Deal). Married at 18, went fishing for about 6 months while my wife stayed with family. Baby son born in August. Worked for about 1 year or so, delivering furniture. Back problems started around then. Worked for the City of San Diego for 4 years- 2 with the streets, repairing asphalt streets and operating equipment & 2 years with the Water Dept, laying, repairing water and sewer pipe and operating equipment. While working for the City of San Diego, remarried and fathered 2 more children, Al and Crystal. Left to go to Alaska at about 24. Worked Alaska for aobut 1 year. Worked in open pit coal mine, dleiverd furniture for Transfer Company, Load Master on a Hercules C-130 in trhe North Slope and Canada. 2nd Divorce at about 26 and went back to San Diego. Went back to sea as a fisherman, Single and getting in trouble for about 3 years. Lived with some friends, women, started using drugs somewhat, drinking very heavy, etc. Remarried about 28 years old and had 3 more children, Stephanie, Courtney and Christopher.Stopped fishing and went toschool to learn a trade. Started my own business and repaired appliances, refrigeration, commercial, residential, etc. for about 4 years. Worked at a Co-Gen planta as an Engineer. Layed off due to Union business. Worked at my business for a year or so and then back to a 22 floor building as an Assist Engineer untill I heard back from a application withe the City of San Diego. Was offered a job as a Chief Engineer with the firm but decided to get some security with the City. While at the City I started as a Refrigeration Mechanic, then a Sr. Refrigeration Mechanic, then Supervisor ofr the HVAC Shop, then a second level job as dispatch Supervisor for all trade emergencies for buildings.. Transferred to the Qualcomm Stadium for about 1.5 years and in charge of all maintenance of the Stadium. Worked the Superbowl 38 and Billy Grahm Crusade. Padres built a new park so not enough going on at the Stadium and transferred back to Supervising trades Supervisor's. Worked at the City for about 23 years an retired in 2006. Bought a 30 foot fishing boat and having fun making it ready for fishing each summer. Went through some physical problems but hangin in their.
