Vista High School Class of 1970 Reunion Committee Member: Membership Chairman
Pilot for United Airlines, Captain on Boeing 757 & 767 aircraft based out of Los Angeles International airport. Married Molly in 1998. She is a United Flight Attendant. We met working a trip from Chicago to Souix City, Iowa.
After high school I went to college at USC on a Navy ROTC scholarship. After graduating in june, 1974 I was off to Navy Flight School getting my "Wings of Gold" in December, 1975. While in the Navy I flew P-3 anti-submarine aircraft out of Northern California and C-131's (CV-440) out of Corpus Christi, Texas. I got out of the Navy in 1980. From 1981 until I came to work at United in 1987 I worked as a pilot, then chief pilot for a trucking company.
Along the way I have enjoyed doing theater, which led to some professional acting. I also found a love of golf when Molly reintroduced me to it. Since the birth of my daughter, Teddy, in 2008 I have nearly retired from the game. I continue to enjoy photography, videography and connecting with friends.
As you might expect life revolves around my family and work. Teddy now 8. She has a busy life which keeps us hoping. She's in 3rd grade, doing a lot of 4th grade work; she's been taking tennis lessons for 4 years now and recently competed in her first tournament; she is playing basketball now and the past two springs she played baseball. She is where our lives begins and ends. I love being a Dad. I sure waited long enough to start.
At work I am still flying the Boeing 757/767. The majority of my trips are trans-continental flights, mostly LAX-JFK. They are efficient, giving me more time at home with my girls. Molly and I have to mesh our schedules to cover Teddy. Where we can't we use our baby sitter to fill in. It all seems to work somehow.
