Today's Featured Biography
Dona Hazard Hazard-Spratling
Life has been good to me and Lord knows that would probably be a shock to some of my classmates.
I went into the Army in 1979 and was stationed in Ansbach, Germany for three years and really grew as a person. I traveled constantly wanting to see all I could while I was stationed there. It was an experience of a lifetime, so I took full advantage of it. I gained both job and life skills which have seen me through to this point.
After being honorably discharged from the Army at Fort Dix, NJ I went to work for the civil service and married a soldier I had dated in Germany, after 3 years there, we got stationed back in Karlsruhe Germany I continue with the civil service 3 more years there before my divorce.
I moved back to Aurora, CO and worked at Lowry AFB until I took a transfer to Fort Hood,TX where after 5 years I met my current husband and his 5 year old daughter, which now made me a step mother.
When he retired from Fort Hood we made a decision to sell our house and move from Copperas Cove, TX to Mesquite, TX where we had our retirement home built. This decision was also made so that I could help care for my terminally ill mother. I resigned from the civil service after 19 years of service so we could move her to my sister's home in Fort Worth from Missouri for better medical facilities. After my mother passed away I went to work for Dallas Laboratories and have been there now for almost 11 years.
I have been blessed with a great life and many wonderful experiences, but it has gone so fast. I can hardly believe that I am reading about the 35 year reunion and now closing in on 40, which I WILL NOT miss Lord willing.
I thank Linda for finding me and by the way the bang up job she has done on this site. It is definately a "You go Girl" situation!
