Mary Beattie Luca
Still don’t know what I’ll be when I grow up, but I’m enjoying the journey :)
Stayed in DE all my life by choice not chance. After UD Economics/MIS degree went to work at JPMorgan in systems, got an MBA at night, and eventually became a trader, VP & Treasurer, but quit in ‘98 to be at home and hopefully have more children (blew a few minds with that one!).
When I started to get a life after the MBA, I would disappear on a golf course to get lost in nature and ended up meeting my husband there - a laid back golf pro who boggled my mind,“but what’s your career path?” I would ask him. Well opposites do attract, and he has helped me learn to relax (some) and here we are after 13 years of marriage held together by our common faith, dreams and love. We downsized the house and quit the club where we met so I could stay home and we’ve been blessed with three children on this earth so far. He’s made career sacrifices too so that we could have more time as a family and he could be involved with our homeschooling life. I’m still better with analytics than making meals - but I’m learning and growing each day and it’s where I want to be.
We love to visit Williamsburg, camp (ok, I’m a travel trailer gal, I don’t do tents yet), play golf or just hang out together with nature. I still love to swim and run.
Looking forward to the reunion. Thank you for putting it together and this web site so that we can catch up before we see each other. Also, please pray continuously for Nancy Willis’ young son, Jimmy,who has been battling brain cancer at AI duPont Children’s Hospital since July.
