Today's Featured Biography
Cheri Adkinson Barnes
I graduated from the University of Florida, and later got my masters at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
I have lived in Jackson, Mississippi since 1980. My husband Philip and I have been happily married for 19 years. My daughter Suzanne, her husband and my two precious grandchildren live in Louisiana 2 hours away, so we get to see them often.
I retired from the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA). I interviewed veterans and helped them file claims for disability and pension. Since retiring I have worked part-time in retail. Working part-time has helped me stay active and continue working with people.
My husband and I are very involved in our church and sing in the choir. I walk; he gardens. I am thankful to God for the life I have.
