Linda Harada

After graduating from the University of Hawaii, I worked for the State of Hawaii - Human Services for 34 years (8 years on the line and 26 years in management). I retired on 12/31/06 and after 3 months of adjusting to retirement life, I started doing volunteer work. For almost 6 years now, I have been volunteering in my friend's kindergarten class at Liholiho Elementary (4 days a week from 7:30 am till 1:00 p.m.) and one day a week for the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i (JCCH), Resource Center. After many years of supervising adults, it's such a joy to be working with children in my retirement. And at the JCCH Resource Center, I work with a group of retired teachers and librarians. It's been very educational for me as we have been working on the WWII Internment Camps in Hawaii. Besides doing volunteer work, I have been traveling mainly to Las Vegas and Japan.

Retirement is GREAT!!
