Today's Featured Biography
Kimberly Johnson Capdevila
Gosh - ok, here it goes- married since 1982 to Carlos. We have three children, Lindsey(27) a Prevention Specialist in Davenport and a single mother to Raylin, my 7 year old BFF and grandddaughter, Nicholas is 21 and in 4th year of Electrical Engineering at U of IA, and Alejandra died in April, 2004 of S.A.D.S. Spent many years working in Carlos's Insurance agency and the Office Manager and now I am semi-retired from that career and working at it from home. Additionally I spent most of my time being a "Domestic Engineer" - scout mom, soccer mom (typical steriotypical one, at that), McGyver of fixing things (with duct tape, mostly) and attended all of our children's many school activities for 20 years, living out of a crock pot and feeding masses of kids who came and went at all times of the day and night to and from our house. Then they all left, and now I am stunned at the silence, and busying myself with gardening, volunteering at the Battered Women's Shelter, SADS Organization, and various other community organizations, helping my elder relatives around town, enjoying (haha) our cabin on the Mighty "Never-Not-Flooded" Mississippi, and traveling here and there. As time has gone on, I have found that I have terrible name and memory recollection of high school... which just really stinks because I know I had a really good time with a lot of great people. Now it is time for this 30 year class reunion so I am digging out my old Purple & Grey Pathfinder and reacquainting myself with a lot of people who mean great deal to me. Hope to see a lot of you there! Please wear nametags! (haha)
My best memory from high school is making a batch of trash-can punch for my send-off party to go to Argentina at Brenda Mills-Levitt's house. Her mom laid tarps all over the house on the carpet and left the house to us....
