After graduation I traveled between Washington, Oregon, Utah, and California just to hang out and check things out. Then I got the notice from Uncle Sam that they wanted me for the Vietnam war snafu. I joined the Air Force to avoid the infantry and then spent the next four years partying. One year in Denver, spending the winter weekends up skiing in Vail , I then was deployed to Albuquerque, NM. Worked in an Experimental Precision Measurement and Equipment Laboratory and skied the Sandia Mountains. I then got orders to go to Germany to a little base tucked up in the Hunsruck Mountains above the Mosel River. I spent the next two years traveling Europe and skiing everywhere I could. I even represented my base in the USAFE ski competitions in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The war in Vietnam finally ended and I could hardly wait to get out. Exactly 4 years from the day I entered the Air Force,I got my honorable discharge in Europe. I intended to travel but had no money. I hung out for a month and a half with friends and made it back to Boise on Thanksgiving day, 1974. I went to BSU majoring in Gen Business until I married Denise Leonard in the summer of 1975. I got a job at Sassy Office Systems repairing office equipment and became their service manager. After 8 years I changed jobs to Computer Repair for Computer Business Services. In 1985 I joined the National Skip Patrol, got my EMT-D certification, worked for Meridian Rescue One and spent 3 years with Ada County Paramedics.
In 1988 I finally gave up working for small companies and went to work for Micron Technologies. In 1990 my younger brother Jerry died from complications of receiving bad blood four years earlier as did nearly a 1000 other Hemophilia's which caused a big change in the way we handle our blood banks in America. Denise and I divorced in 1990 and I stayed busy with my medical adventures as well as my dedication to Micron. In 1993 I met my ultimate dance partner, Diane Collins. In the winter of 1996 Diane received the good news/bad news. She had a rare disease,it was fatal, expensive to treat and not much hope to look forward to. We married in the summer of 1997 with a Native American, Mountain Man rendezvous style wedding complete with Nez Peirce Shaman and a Primitive Black Powder Preacher. It was a two day festival with frying pan toss, atlatl competition, tomahawk throw, bow and arrow shoot and story telling. One of the best days of my life. Diane and I got involved with the Alpha-1 community. Diane covers 17 states as a Patient Support Specialist for CSL Behring providing education to Alpha-1 Patients and the medical community by giving lectures and other presentations about this devastating disease and how we can learn to live and cope with what God has given us.
We now have six children combined whom have given us 13 grandchildren.
In 2007 I contracted a rare but friendly disease; Santalausidosis. I have been to several schools and attended various educational seminars and gatherings with other people effected with this rarity. I've networked and joined numerous support groups with others that have his same affliction. I wanted to learn as much as I could, to learn how to cope with this issue. Around the November time frame of every year, I flare up with a bad case of Santaclausitis and I actually become, Santa Claus. The disease has progressed to the point that as the older I get, the more I look like Santa Claus. We all have to learn to live with what ever is dealt to us in our short life times. The best we can do is to make people smile and create good, lasting memories which is all we can leave behind.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
