After I left DCHS, I moved to Chicago where I attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I dropped out after the first year and moved to California to become a cinematographer. Not realizing how many others move out West to break into the film business, I found myself out of money and in an Army Recruiter's office signing enlistment papers. I served in Germany for a few years, got out and worked on a vineyard. With the Army Reserve, I was sent to Bosnia to wage peace and then came back to the States to attend Smith College in Masschusetts. I interned at the United Nations in NYC (missed our 10th reunion) and worked in Haiti. Came back to Chicago for a brief stint and then moved back East to work for a dotcom and live with Aaron (whom I met in Germany in my Reserve Unit). 9/11 brought us to DC where we are currently living across the Potomac River from Mount Vernon. Aaron and I married a few years ago and Atticus was born shortly thereafter. I was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom until this spring when Aya, our Japanese au pair, moved in and I recently started work again as a cog in the wheel of our nation's Military Industrial Complex.
There's lots of other stuff that happened on top of all that (to include a lovely vacation in Iraq courtesy of the military and some time in Greece for the Summer Olympics) and I'm still in the Army Reserve as a Captain. I am also currently a big supporter of locally grown organic food and am touring preschools for Atticus.
I haven't been back to Chicago in quite awhile, nor have I kept in touch with anyone, so it will be an interesting trip seeing everyone again. DCHS seems like lifetimes ago! It's been fun reading everyone's bio and finding out what exciting journeys you've been on and I'm looking forward to our reunion!
