Life and Times in 1958
After graduation from high school, life was tough when the average yearly income was just $5,087! But then when Dwight D. Eisenhower was President, a house cost only $18,640. Milk cost only 51 cents a half gallon, 10 lbs of potatoes cost 63 cents and 79 cents would bring home the bacon. Back then we could buy a loaf of bread at the grocery store for the 1958 price of 19 cents! Yes, those were the days when we listended to songs like "April Love" and "The Purple People Eater". And who could forget the enchanting melody of "Tom Dooley"? When we were glued to the television set, we watched "The Jack Benny Show", the most popular show in 1958. Remember that it was the New York Yankees over the Milwaukee Braves in the 1958 World Series?

Today's Featured Biography
Richard Copple
Hobbies: Gardening and Grandkids
Pastimes: We spend our spare time at our cabin in the mountains of New Mexico with family and friends.
Attended Irving Grade School
Rich and Judy were married July 28, 1962, have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
Rich writes, "In August of 1974 we moved to McAllen, Texas in the far South part of Texas only a few miles from the Mexican border.
I worked for a large produce company doing warehousing, inventory control and freight management. I also worked for several months each year in California and a few weeks in Florida.
Judy and I both got into Residential Real Estate in McAllen through a friend who was the broker. Later, Judy opened her own office while I built houses.
In 1984 we moved to the Austin area where I worked full time as a manager of distri-bution and traffic for a manufacturning company. Judy became one of the top agents in the Austin area.
In 1996 I came back into the real estate business full time to work with Judy.
In 1999 were recruited to open and be partners in a new Keller Williams Realty office that was to open in Round Rock, Texas. It started with Judy, me and our assistant Pat. Today there are well over 300 agents in that office and it has been wildly successful
We are still active in the real estate business and have our own personal office in Georgetown as well as the large office in Round Rock. We talk of retiring one of these days. Maybe in the next year or so.
I am most proud of our marriage and our incrediably blessed family. Our current mission is to get all of our grandchildren through college. We enjoy family gatherings during the summer at a lake and again at Christmas in the Mountians.
