Anne Isbell Hughes

I graduated from Mercy College with a BS in Early Childhood Development-Education. I married Mike Hughes(my high school boyfriend and a UofD grad.)in 1977. We have 4 children Matt(33)is a Police Officer married to Ashley and they have 2 children Jack is 9 and Sophie is 5. Becky (31) has been married to Matt for 2 years and is a 1st grade teacher Katie(30)is an accountant and Chris(26) is working on a culinary arts degree. Mike is an attorney and I have a licensed home day care that I have worked at for almost 30 years.
We have had the same losses as everyone else I am sure. My Father died in 1974 and Mike lost his Father the next year in 1975. My Mother died in 1995 but thankfully we still have Mike's Mother. In 2005 I had a heart attack at 49 just a few weeks before my 50th birthday. You can't fight your genes. I had a stent put in and am doing well.
I have had a wonderful life and am so thankful to still be here. My family is my life and Mike and I are so happy to spend time with Jack and Sophie. I am sure many of you don't even remember me as I was so quiet and shy. But after all these years I have come out of my shell and a very happy life.
