Today's Featured Biography
Scott Higley
After graduating from MHS, I attended the University of Michigan where I received a B.B.A. with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance in December 1993. Upon graduating, I worked for Plante & Moran, PLLC (a regional accounting firm) in Southfield and Mt. Clemens, MI (both Detroit suburbs). I worked at Plante & Moran for a total of six years and while there earned my Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
For the past eight years, I have been working for General Motors at the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit. Since joining GM in 2001, I have worked as an internal auditor and in two operational accounting roles supporting GMAC’s North American auto finance and GM’s US sales and marketing activities.
My wife Lisa grew up in Oakland Township, a northern Detroit suburb. After she graduated from UM in 1996, she and I moved to Des Moines, IA where she attended medical school at Des Moines University. She currently practices Internal Medicine with a partner from their Clinton Township office. She is affiliated with Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center and Beaumont Hospital.
We have two girls, Megan (2005) and Sydney (2007), who keep us very busy. We are members at St. Peter Lutheran Church & School in Macomb, MI. This past school year, Megan enjoyed preschool there. During the fall, we go to Ann Arbor (approx. 60 miles from our home in Shelby Township) for as many Michigan football games at the Big House as we can.
