Today's Featured Biography
Randall J. Erickson
I've been married for almost 18 years (first and, I hope, only marriage) and have two daughters, 14, and 11, both smart and sassy. I'm editor of three award-winning weekly newspapers in the La Crosse, Wis., area, where I've lived and toiled as a journalist for about 17 years.
Before I took over as editor five years ago I played lead guitar and sang in a rock band for fun -- the Troubadogs (motto: arf for arf's sake). I also took up running and ran a marathon. Now I don't have time for fun or runs, although I do enjoy watching my girls grow up.
My wife is a special education teacher and president of the middle school PTA. She's a lot smarter than I am -- she's got a master's degree and I've only got a lousy BA in journalism from the University of Minnesota. She's going to be a principal before long, I bet. Both my kids are pretty dang smart, too. Must have gotten it from her.
About five years ago, my oldest daughter developed a chronic pain syndrome called reflex sympathetic dystrophy, which she is dealing with pretty well, considering
