Caryl Bugge
Attended Northrop Elementary
Awarded Pilgrimage for Youth by Odd Fellows and Rebeccas in 1954
Graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in 1955 (Edited yearbook - 2nd in class)
Graduated from the College of Education at the University of Minnesota in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree and certification to teach mathematics and English.
Taught junior-high mathematics for the Minneapolis School district from 1959 until 1964 (Chaired mathematics department last two years)
Taught senior-high mathematics for the Robbinsdale School District at Robbinsdale Cooper Senior High located in New Hope, MN from 1964 until 1993. (Chaired department for 8 of last 9 years)
Retired from teaching to TRF in 1993.
1988 - Selected as one of eight teachers awarded the Outstanding Teacher in Minnesota by the Minnesota Chamber and awarded a $4000 undesignated stipend.
2001 - Selected as Volunteer of the Year by the Thief River Falls Chamber of Commerce.
2001 - Selected as Woman of the Year by the Thief River Falls American Association of University Women.
Baptized - Evangelical Free Church.
Member - United Methodist Church
1993 - 2004 - Volunteer tutor for the LPN and RN nursing programs at Northland Community College and Technical School.
2000 - 2007 - Served on the Thief River Falls Chamber of Commerce Convention and Tourism Bureau.
1996 - 1997 - Co-chaired the TRF Community Christmas Dinner.
1998 - 2003 - Volunteer interim-director for the Pennington County Historical Society at Peder Engelstad Pioneer Village in TRF.
2004 – 2005 - Director for the Pennington County Historical Society at Peder Engelstad Pioneer Village in TRF.
2006 – Author of “Thief River Falls and Pennington County” published by Arcadia Publishing.
2006-2007 – Archivist for the Pennington County Historical Society.
Supports charitable giving to Pennington County Historical Society Endowment Fund.
