After retiring from First Interstate Bank in 1994, Earl and I moved to Mission, Texas into a retirement community. We both enjoyed golfing and also worked part-time at Martin's Country Club in the pro-shop. The retirement community also relies on its residents to keep up the beauty of the park so we enjoyed doing volunteer work.
I have two step-children, Bruce and Bonnie, and two grand-daughters and five great grandchildren.
In 2001 we took a vacation to The Villages, Florida. Both of us fell in love with this golfing community so we built a home and moved there November, 2001. Not knowing Earl had cancer we were only there 3 months when our friends moved us back to Mission. He passed away February, 2002.
I continue to stay busy with part-time work at the golf course in Texas and Minnesota. I'm now traveling abroad with my favorite cruise being the Baltic countries. Besides the Scandivian countries, we spent 2 days in St. Petersburg, Russia, Tallinn, Estonia, and Gdansk, Poland which were my favorite cities. This past winter I went on a Mediteranean cruise with Barcelona, Spain, Canary Islands and Funchal, Madeira being my favorite.
My summers are spent in TRF now, helping care for my Mom. In March 2009 I found out I had uterine cancer but with surgery and minimal radiation I thought it was gone. But it came back one year later so I'm in the process of treatment at M.D. Anderson in Houston and am hoping to be able to attend the reunion.
