Today's Featured Biography
Jeff Raithel
Howdy all,
Let's see...I enlisted in the Marine Corps during our senior year. Served 4 years as a Russian Linguist and was then selected to participate in a commissioning program.
I graduated Auburn University in 1996 with a BA in History and was commissioned a 2ndLt.
Since then, I've served all over and am now rapidly approaching military retirement and transition to the "real world". Along the way I've traveled from Hawaii to Kosovo and many points in between.
Along the way, I've managed to pick up a MS in Leadership Education and Human Resource Development during a tour at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis. We're back in Annapolis, Maryland now, but I'm currently a Major and Commanding Officer of Company L, Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion. This summer, I'll "move up" to become the Battalion Executive Officer, a post that sort of brings my service full circle.
For the past 16 years I've been married to Deb, a wonderful woman that packs up when we have to, and we've had two sons (Sam, 12) and (Matt, 11) [they're almost Irish twins].
Both of the boys are active Boy Scouts, so between work and the kids, that takes up a majority of our time.
Thanks to Sherry for putting this together...it's been interesting although I regret that I won't be able to make the reunion.
