Today's Featured Biography
Ervin McIntosh
Married my wife, Irene, in 1962 and she still puts up with me. We have 3 boys, and 6 grandkids, 2 great grandkids. Irene obtained her masters Degree in Psychology and Education and worked in Social Services. I graduated from N.C. State College with degree in Wildlife Management. Managed National Wildlife Refuges in Florida, Maryland, and Alaska. Went to Alaska in 1981 to start a new National Wildlife Refuge in the interior of the state for the Fish and Wildlife Service. Changed to Ecological Services of the Fish and Wildlife Service in 1987 with the task of accessing impacts of development on fish and wildlife and their habitats. Territory included all lands between Canadian border to Little Diomede in the Berring Straights and the Brooks Range to the Alaska Range, including the Denali National Park. Retired January 2001. Purchased a Privilege 39 Catamaran sailing vessel in 2002 in St. Croix and sailed it to Tampa Bay, Florida for refit. Sailed up and down the East Coast and the Bahamas for six years until my wife said she had enough. Sold the boat and went to Phoenix area,temporarily, to be near our grankids and start ridding ourselves of property in Alaska and Arizona.
