Joyce Bryan Strout
After University of Nebraska~Kearney, Hawaii was my home for awhile! Wolbach, Nebraska Business Education instructor was next. I earned my Masters Degree in business at UN~L and joined IBM in Lincoln as a Marketing Rep. Dan and I met at IBM training in New York and have been married for 34 years.I had 15 years with Big Blue. During my time with IBM (6 moves in 12 years) my career took me from Marketing Manager to Regional Industry Rep, AA to the Vice President of IBM to Branch Manager of a $47M branch in Philadelphia. We moved from Lincoln to Chicago, to Atlanta, to Pennsylvania, and back to Chicago.
I worked as Sr. VP for Zanacliff Enterprises in entertainment—-training employees for stage entertainment for recognition events and film. On to President of a Chicago Employment Agency; My book, “The Eyes of Leadership” was written in 1997. I opened my own firm, J.B. Strout & Co. doing management and sales training around the world for 20 years. I loved the college students when I was President of the International Academy of Design and Technology for several years.
Presently I'm working on management training for my clients and accrediting colleges for the ACICS Washington D.C. organization. I'm active in Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, P.E.O. Methodist church, Macy's Fashion designers, and was also an IHSA volleyball referee and High Ropes course instructor. We love to travel: Sweden, Canada, Phuket, England, Mexico, Denmark, Italy, Bangkok, China, Red China, Hawaii, France, Costa Rica, Ireland, etc.
It was an honor to create the HHS '66 Reunion Book. Hope you all enjoyed it!
I’m thankful for growing up in Holdrege, the heartland of America, where teachers cared, parents taught, friends were loyal, and ethics were important. May God bless each of you.
