Today's Featured Biography
Dennis Trippel
After leaving the University of Nebraska in 1965, entered the U.S. Army, graduating from Officer Candidate School in April, 1966, as a 2nd Lt. Infantry. Served a 15 month tour in Vietnam with the 14th Infantry, 25th Division and left the service in August 1968, at the rank of Captain.
Met my wife while stationed at Ft. Dix, NJ in 1968 and got married in February 1969.
Worked for Carnation Company, Key Account Salesman on the Worth Food (Piggly Wiggly) Account, in Dallas-Ft.Worth, TX before relocating to the Washington, DC area to take a position with an unnamed employer.
Went to work as a contract negotiator with the US Department of Labor in June 1972 and eventually reached the position of a Division Director in Acquisitions.
Took a position with the FAA in November 1989, as a major system contracting officer on the Advanced Automation Program. Moved to Chief of the Quality Assurance Group in November 1974, from which I recently retired (for information on this area you can go to faa.gov and surf into acquisitions and research going into ASU-200 website).
My daughter is now a practicing physician (internist). Dr. Trippel-Radican recently gave birth to her first child, my second grand-daughter Isabella, in September 2002.
My son, Kevin, graduated from George Mason University, with a BS in Business and is currently employed by Unisys Corporation in Reston, Virginia. Kevin and his wife Sunny received their first child, Kaya Page, in September 2001.
Patty and I spend many long week-ends in our mountain home, at Wintergreen, Virginia (wintergreenresort.com), in the Blue Ridge Mountains. At this point in our lives we are truly enjoying our two grand-children.
I can't wait to have a first visit to Disneyworld with the two of them.
