Today's Featured Biography
Kassandra Boyd
After graduating I became an exchange student through Rotary and lived in Belgium for a year where I got to really learn French.
I returned to attend UNM to room with one of my best friends, Eilene Rossberg, had a blast there, enjoyed being an RA before eventually completing my BA in Foreign Languages & Linguistics.
Seduced by the dark side to stay in school, I then obtained a post bacc certificate in education, taught in Santa Fe for a year, then in Belen at my old school (Central Elem) in the same 6th grade classroom for four years before starting my dream of living and working overseas.
I headed first to Tanzania, East Africa to teach at the International School of Tanganyika. The beaches, the safari's, Zanzibar...oh my!
Needing something different after six years there, I moved to Hong Kong and spent five years there working at Hong Kong Academy, a small community school.
I am no longer teaching students directly but have moved into curriculum coordination. Officially I'm the PYP Coordinator. PYP stands for Primary Years Programme and is run by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
In July 2008, I am moving to Dhaka, Bangladesh to start the next adventure.
I love what I do!
My family has moved to Portland, Oregon so that's where I head 'home'. My brother has a 6 year old daughter who is one of the lights of my life.
I've enjoyed checking things out on this webpage and look forward to hearing from any of you and perhaps seeing you in the future.
