Today's Featured Biography
John Landon
Following graduation I headed off to Jacksonville University in Florida courtesy of my NROTC scholarship. Graduated in Dec 1978 and was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. Stayed on active duty until June 1986 after assignments in San Diego, Norfolk, Key West and Jacksonville FL. Finished my initial active duty stint teaching NROTC at my alma mater while earning an MBA in the evenings.
Spent a couple of years as a "headhunter" placing accountants/financial analysts/IT personnel in Jacksonville FL and then went back on active duty with the Navy Reserve as a Full-Time Support officer. From 1988 until now, have lived in Newport RI; Long Beach, CA; Charleston SC; Cincinnati OH; San Diego CA; New Orleans LA; Everett WA; and Pearl Harbor HI.
Currently working at my final assignment in the Pentagon for the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Reserve Affairs) as Director of Readiness until my retirement after 30+ years of active duty on 29 May 2009! Hope to find career #2 that lasts equally as long!
Remarried on 26 Oct 2008 in Virginia! Looking forward to the next reunion and the chance to actually make one for a change!
