Georgette Sobel
Graduated LIU, Brooklyn Campus, 1969 with a degree in Business Education; received an MBA from St. Johns University, 1977 with the honor of Dame, Order of St. John of Jerusalem bestowed upon me in 2005. Taught for 8 years in the New York City Public School System. In 1978, moved to Washington, DC and became involved in a variety of government consulting, advertising promotions and international meeting planning organizations, as well as continuing as the Executive Director of The Eleanor Roosevelt Institute for Justice & Peace, a non-profit organization with an emphasis on minority group rights. Although having a real estate license since 1978, it was not until 1990 that I decided to devote my professional career to real estate and became Principal Broker of my own Genih Properties & Interiors, a boutique real estate company with clientele in the Washington Metropolitan area (Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia). I continue to travel extensively to Europe, Asia and the Middle East with homes in Washington, D.C., South Beach, FL and Tel Aviv, Israel. For 13 years blessed with Matahari, an Australian Cattle Dog (who was brilliant, beautiful, with a mind of her own), I am equally blessed with Samson Agonistes, an 11-pound Brussels Griffon who is every bit as smart, alert and energetic as she was and who sits on my lap as I write to you all! My life has and continues to be full and gratifying, always ready to take on the next amazing challenge. I hope you all can say the same! With kindest personal regards to the entire 1,300+ seniors in the Class of 1964 and looking forward to see you all on June 21, 2008.
