Today's Featured Biography
George MacLeod
University of Maine 1971
3 years "on the road"
Built off-grid home/farm midcoast Maine
Worked as land use and municipal planning consultant
Opened MacLeod's Restaurant in Bucksport 1980 (still operating)
Real estate investment and development
Married 1978 to Katherine from Portland, Me
Four wonderful children, all grown. Dan is a reporter in Brooklyn, previously professional musician, Molly, poet and doctoral student in biology at Rutgers, Leah, artist working on her MBA, Connor artist and musician working his way thru college. Wife Katie is guidance counselor at Bucksport High.
I opened a small ravioli company six months ago on second floor of the restaurant building. Sell retail to food stores, public. I continue to oversee restaurant operations tho much is done by managers and staff. For about 15 years I have made most of my living from brokerage of waterfront, commercial and large acreage real estate.

Miss cheap beer and blood on the floor at Augie's, pizza at 3- guys, all the pretty girls I never met, weekends working at Minnewaska, my old soul-brother, Doug Lester, and being the only one in my class without a vowel at the end of my name.
