I married classmate Becky Ahlquist in 1968. We have two children, Jodi and Scott, and three grandchildren, Jack, Natalie, and Chloe. Becky and I have traveled the country and the world extensively and have lived in many different locations, each an interesting experience of its own. We returned home to the Warren area in 2003 where we now enjoy spending time with our grandchildren and taking care of our home.
I received an AS degree in Electronic Technology, a BS degree in Education from So. Illinois University, and a MS degree in Organizational Development from Chapman University. In 1994 I retired from a a very successful and highly decorated 26 year career in the U.S. Navy. I then worked for a short time as a Senior Engineer in Research and Development for military weapons systems. Following that I took a position as the Senior Technical Trainer with a microlithography laser manufacturer for several years, followed by a position as Training and Development Manager at Ford Motor Co. Since moving back to Warren, I have worked part-time as a substitute teacher in the Warren School District. I recently completed a lengthy course of study to become certified as a Lutheran Lay Worship Leader. In that role, I serve as a substitute Pastor for churches where there are no pastors or where the pastor is away on vacation, etc. I have found myself writing sermons and conducting services nearly three of every four weeks.
