Today's Featured Biography
Michael McVay
After High School, I enrolled at the University of Memphis State University. I was enrolled for 5 semesters. In June of 92, I started working nights at the FedEx Hub. Work and school didn't mix well for me so school had to go. Truthfully, I wasn't too interested in school at the time. I was more interested in partying. I used to go see Bury the Bone, Brian Overstreet's former band, all the time.
I am still at FedEx but now I am a courier. I have been back to school a couple of times but still cannot decide what "I want to be when I grow up". I am very happy with my job right now so I will stick with it for a while.
Since all through school I was the shy, mild mannered, non-confrontational type some may be surprised to learn that I was a bouncer at Shooters in 1999.
I am a big UT fan (Go Vols!) and really into NASCAR. (Junior) The Summer after we graduated, Dale Earnhardt made a personal appearance at what was Gwatney II Chevrolet. I went with Steve Browder and Eddie Harden and met THE MAN. That same summer was when "Days of Thunder" came out. Since then, I've been hooked. I became a Dale Earnhardt fan since I knew who he was. I followed Dale until the end. In February of 2001, I was devastated like a lot of folks. I had already become a Dale Jr fan. I started following him when he started in the Busch Series. So my allegiance went his way. Although I still find myself rooting for that GM Goodwrench car sometimes. In April of 2001, on Dale Earnhardt's birthday, I had a flag flown over the US Capitol in honor of Dale Earnhardt. When I received the flag, I sent it to the Earnhardt family. Then at the first race after Sept 11 when Jr won and pulled out his US flag and did his victory laps, I had to wonder. Was it the same flag? I guess I will never know.
Other interests include Talk Radio: Sports and Political, I listen to all types of music but my favorite is Country.
