Dear Classreport users: We are one of the premiere social networking websites dating back to 2003. We are a small, family owned and operated business with less than 15 staff but freely host over a million class websites. Classreport holds a special place in the hearts of our users: Bravos. We are funded solely through your voluntary contributions. Despite our small size we have the same costs as any other site: servers, security, software, and staff. So now we ask for your support. If everyone reading this gave $15, our fundraiser would be over in one day. If Classreport is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online and ad-free for another year. Thank you. Click here to chip in now.

Today's Featured Biography

Andres (Andy) Mendez

The TJHS Class of 1973 had more than 1000 students. I'm happy to hear that our dearly departed classmates will be remembered at the main event. This reunion, more than likely our last, is supposed to be about things near and dear to us. We should all celebrate our continued existence on Earth with people that we have known and loved since the 1950's.

I haven't thought about this for some time, but many of us have known each other since the 1960's, when we first met at Ben Franklin Elementary School OR Baskin Elementary School OR Maverick Elementary School OR Woodlawn Hills Elementary School OR Saint Mary Magdelene Catholic School OR Holy Rosary Catholic School OR Saint Paul's Catholic School OR was it the infamous old N.W. Young Men's Christian Association (Y.M.C.A.)? Remember those teen dances and how our parents provided the transportation? I remember them sweating bullets, out in the lobby. Mommy and Daddy taking care of little precious. The Gator? Not my daughter, man!
I can still remember the day that my two mongrel dogs casually moved past the swimming pool check-point and jumped into the olympic size swimming pool. Little brother George, y'all remember George, and I laughed our heads off all weekend over that! Those dogs!

But on a more serious note, we also remember November 22, 1963. Boy were we all scared! People were screaming and crying in the streets, others were unable to drive their cars. Those kinds of shared childhood experiences are hard to talk about, even to this day. The class of '73 has seen history!

Rumor has it that I died in the mid 1980's, that obviously did not happen. I did almost drown in Barton Springs Pool in Austin, ask Marla Jean Temple. btw-She's still owns that '66 Mustang 2+2. And no, she will not sell it, no way. I've asked her many times.

Just spoke to Bill Irwin about a hot Public Records website called instantcheckmate.com While some information is free, other information can be obtained for a small fee. Instantcheckmate.com can be used as a tool to help locate former classmates, especially those who have married and/or changed their names. Bill and the other members of the TJHS reunion committee would like every 1973 graduate to help locate as many of our friends and former classmates as possible. We fully expect suprise guests at the Mixer and the Main Event. Don't let us down now, hear?

Check out my Mom's killer recipe for Frijoles Borrachos, so you'll know what helped feed Andy & George and why they're so big & strong.

My Biography (1973-Present)

I was a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), SSgt/E-5, Bioenvironmental Engineering Technician, in the United States Air Force (USAF) and the United States Air Force Reserve (USAFR), for nearly 10 years, and visited more than 20 countries. I was a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service (USPS) for 2 years. I spent 14 years working for the State Of Texas with the Texas Mental Health & Mental Retardation (TMHMR), Texas Air Control Board (TACB), and the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC). I resigned from state employment in 2000 and took a job with a private engineering firm in Corpus Christi, as an Environmental Specialist, during the toxic black mold/y2K period. The resolution of the so called mold crisis allowed me to begin work at Koch Industries as a independent contractor, supporting the Corpus Christi to D/FW fuels pipeline, where I conducted product pipeline and fuel tanker sampling. Additionally, I helped manage and supervise the proper disposal of various hazardous waste materials generated by Koch refinery.

My USAF/R experiences in environmental engineering, occupational health, and industrial hygiene lead to a career in field sampling and analysis of various environments and disposal of hazardous waste materials. Was an active member of the Disaster Response Force and the Air Toxics Response Force, while working for the USAF/R and State Of Texas respectively. I acquired extensive field experience performing real-time (outdoor) air quality measurements and hazardous (indoor) air quality sampling, as a member of TNRCC's Mobile Air Monitoring & Source Sampling Team, headquartered in Austin, TX.

In 2002, I was retired from work, after having been in the workforce since 1970. Nowadays, I volunteer at KSYM 90.1 FM at least once a year, by becoming a guest DJ with Tish the Intern, on the Third Coast Music Network, usually during Fiesta Week.

On 11/1/95 I became a Father for the first time at 40. I prayed to God for a miracle child and I received one. Thank-you Lord Jesus Christ!

My Classmates page has cool Digital PHOTOS.
