5/11/2009 Howard Brauer Visits Waco
May 11, 2009
Howard Brauer recently visited Johnny Thompson. Johnny, Howard and Brenda Turnbough took this opportunity to eat dinner and socialize at our local Cheddars Re
. . .
I retired 5 years ago and have been busy since that time! In 2006 I helped plan our 40th reunion with Johnny Thompson and Sandra "Clayton" Bravo. I think it was a big success, but wished that we could have found more of our friends.
I have 5 grandchildren ages 19, 17, 17, 12, 11 who all live in Cedar Park (near Austin). So of course, I try to visit as much as possible. I so enjoy my daughters and son in laws. Family is precious!
My sister , Lenda, lives in Georgetown. I talk to her daily and visit as much as possible.
I work about 5 hours per week at a friends small home business. This keeps my brain active! I have another friend that is a psychologist and I work in her office in Waco only when she needs me. I guess I just like to work and always have.
I also go to the "Y" at least 2 times weekly to get my exercise!
I also have friends that I go to lunch weekly. These are some gals that graduated from Richfield in 1966.
And, I am on the McLennan County Go Texan Scholarship Committee and have been for the last 10 years. This is a group that provides scholarship to youth of McLennan County in the amount of $25,000. per year. I am very proud of my service to this organization. It's really fun!
So you can see that I am busy all of the time and this is just fine with me.
