Vince Walters




    As many of you already know Heidi passed away almost 2 years ago. Since she can’t be here to update everyone on her life after high school her friends thought we could do that for her. We know she would have loved to be at the reunion and spend time catching up with all of you.
    After graduation Heidi attended the College of Charleston where she met her future husband, Vince. He went to the Citadel and she soon became well versed in everything Navy. They dated for most of their college life and both graduated in 1992. After graduation Heidi continued to live in Charleston and used her degree in education to work with young children. She and Vince continued dating, until they finally got married in 1995.
    Vince and Heidi were then collocated in Virginia Beach and as usual, Heidi managed to quickly make a ton of friends and was able to keep herself completely entertained while Vince was on two separate six-month deployments. After Norfolk they were transferred to NAS Meridian MS in late 1999. This was a bit of a culture shock to her, but again she quickly made many friends and adjusted to life in the Deep South. A few years later in July 2001, Heidi’s twin boys, Logan and Tyler were born. Needless to say they kept her extremely busy. She loved being a mom and took everything the twins threw at her in stride. Her daughter, Katelyn, was born in August 2004 and if there was ever a “mini me” she is it. It is scary to see how much she looks like Heidi. As the military never keeps you in one place, they were again transferred to Roanoke, Virginia in 2005 where she died at her home on August 1, 2006.


    Heidi was a very special person and all who knew and loved her still miss her everyday.
