Today's Featured Biography
Lorene Jannes Citta
I went to work as a secretary at Washington High School in the fall of 1966 and met and married a teacher who started teaching at WHS in 1967 (Larry Ousterling). We have a daughter, Jill, who is now married and living in Jackson, Wisconsin. Two grandchildren--Jordan, 13, and Haley,10. We divorced in 1975. In 1992 I married Rick Citta, also a Washington High School graduate (1970). We met while on a bus trip to the old Comiskey Park in Chicago before they tore it down. We are both serious Brewer fans. Rick has two sons, Matthew, 32, and Kevin, 28 (both bachelors).
Over the years I have had quite a few secretarial jobs, but have been a legal secretary downtown for nine years. Rick is an artist, specializing in murals, decorative painting and pastels. He started a pastel society that meets at Artist & Display, and his group is becoming part of the International Pastel Society. I have taken up beading as a hobby and have attended many classes to hone my skills, particularly that of bead embroidery, enjoy our window box herb garden and also am an avid reader of historical novels and particularly like The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.
Rick and I live in the same neighborhood where I lived during high school days (near Mount Mary College and very near Champion Chicken!) We are now condo dwellers and are loving it. We are active in our neighborhood church and enjoy a simple life.
I look forward to seeing my old friends!
