Today's Featured Biography
Jason Harris
WOW! Unbelievable! So it's been more like 24yrs for me not keeping in touch & not knowing what became of everyone; seeing as how I moved from Othello just after the 8th grade to go live with my dad. I wasn't all that far away though, just a couple hours at that; moved to Easton just about 15 miles East of Snoqualmie Pass. I'm sure most of ya have seen it...that is unless you blinked while driving by and missed it. Easton was small no doubt but a great place to live. Of course the downfall was only one school; K-12. Yep the graduating class of '89 in Easton was me and two girls! Well at least I can say I graduated as the smartest guy right? ;)
So I joined the Army Reserves during High School and planned on attending CWU, but I was sick of school at the time so I passed on education thinking I was smart enough (ya know the whole graduating as the smartest guy in my class thing...even though I was the "only" guy) lol, so I left for Active Duty Basic Training right after high school. I spent a few years in the Infantry jumping out of perfectly good aircraft and helicopters (what a rush!) and served with the 2nd Ranger Battalion - Special Operations Command at Fort Lewis, and later with the 14th Military Intelligence Battalion - Long Range Survellience. Left Washington in '95 and have lived in Okinawa Japan, Fort Richardson Alaska, both Fort Gordon & Fort Benning Georgia, and Fort Drum NY. I've deployed to a few places like Puerto Rico, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and did a combat tour in Afghanistan (seeing young children walk the streets with AK-47's is an experience not to be forgotten). After returning from overseas I finally left Active Duty, but am still employed by the Army; now a Federal Employee and working for the Corps of Engineers as a Senior IT Supervisor.
Somewhere in all those years I was married for 15yrs, had three wonderful kids and finally moved back to Washinton in '07; not long after returning home though the marriage crumbled and now things are great! :) I have my kids a lot and they're the best thing in my life!
I guess that's enough for now. I'll try and get a photo added at some point. It's great reading all the profiles and seeing how everyone's doing. Thanks to Mark Quigley for putting me in touch with Summer so I can be a part of the reunion. I look forward to catching up with everyone. Thanks. ;)
Jason
