Today's Featured Biography
Susan Venter Hansen
I retired in Dec '09 so that Bud and I could travel to Africa. We spent 6 wks there, splitting our time between Tanzania (on a photo safari!) and Ghana (visiting our daughter and her family). Two yrs later we visited Ghana again, better able to look past the poverty and appreciate the beauty of the people and their country. Our daughter then moved to Bangalore, India, which prompted us to make 2 trips there, one exploring the south and the other, the north. One of my favorite places on earth is the coastal town of Goa. In Feb we traveled to the island of Zanzibar and stayed in our daughter's vacation home. Having a daughter living overseas has certainly allowed us to make some incredible journeys!
We have 3 grandchildren, the smartest, most adorable kids ever! Our grandson is 10, currently living in Ethiopia. Our oldest daughter, a web analyst, lives in Seattle with her husband and our 2 granddaughters, ages 6 & 8. Our son, the youngest has moved back to Cedar Falls and is a chef at a new brew pub.
Bud & I are about to embark on new adventure. We're selling our house and moving aboard a boat, a 1985 trawler, named Odyssey. We'll be starting the Great Loop!
