Today's Featured Biography
Susan Levitan Taylor
After graduating from Sharon High School, I went to Syracuse University, from where I graduated in 1971 with a relatively useless (for me) degree in Political Science. In 1971 I fled to England where I lived for a year. When I returned, broke, I lived in Boston for 3 years before deciding to visit my closest friend from college who was living in Ann Arbor, Michigan at that time. (She still is, actually!) I went there to visit for 3 weeks and ended up staying for 20 years! I met my husband Edgar(and my stepson Adam) there. We married in 1978 and visited the coast of Maine every summer after that except the summer of 1983, when our son Jack was born. While in Ann Arbor, I went to grad school at the University of Michigan, earning degrees in Adult Education and Art History. I came close to earning a PhD, but decided I would rather enjoy my life than suffer through the dissertation process. In 1995, we decided to move to Maine. I taught art history for 3 years at Maine College of Art (a driving distance of 140 miles round trip), and gave that up in favor of teaching the humanities (English, history, and art) in the Alternative Education Program at Lincoln Academy, our local high school.
Adam is now 44 (good grief!) and an Assistant Professor of Wood Science at the University of Tennessee. He and his wife Stephanie have 3 beautiful children, ages 13, 8 and almost 7. Jack is now 30 and working on a PhD in African History at the University of Michigan.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
