I Went to Washington High for about a year and a half. From 1978 to 1979.
I was the greasy haired stoner kid in Mr Salmons Art class. first period. I went to art Science and wrestling. Skipped English and Math and typing..liked shop and drafting.
Did some track and field, was a good runner
Tried Algebra for one day and hated it. Got into a fight with Billy Stewart. He had two guys hold me down while he spit tobacco in my face and then punched me. I heard he went to prison maybe.
My name in high school was Mike settle.
I hung out with Larry Grossman and Dale Deemer, Anatoly Saslaver,David Kaiser and Rick Pagel.
I did my freshman year and half of sophomore year than Joined the Navy and left for boot camp on x-mas eve 1979. THAT SUCKED !!!
I remember the sinking of the Sunnyslope viking and a lot of rivalry with them.
I remember a girl named Shauna Tenner who had a brain tumor.
I don't know if she is still around.
I had a huge crush on Kathy Hanes.
I remember Jeff Mongello liked her too.
I think they got married.
I had a friend named Randy Meader who had snakes and eventually sold a couple to Alice Cooper.
I dated a girl named Liza GARBER.
I also dated a really nice girl named Debbie Ragovin, who broke my heart when she went to her prom with another senior guy at the last minute and left me on the auditorium floor alone.
So I went out to the bleachers and got really wasted.
That was a weird night. I think that was the night that Rammy got Painted by the Sunnyslopers and died. In fact, I think that was what caused the WHS football team to destroy the sunnyslope S on Moon mountain.
I remember cruising central and desert parties.
I remember when my friend Anatoly DJ'd at The speak-easy on 7th street and dunlap. And he also did the Central avenue yacht club.
Wow Crazy days.
We sure look at things different now don't we.
Namaste'
Mike.
