Today's Featured Biography
Debra Henderson Sellers
After graduation I met and married someone from Montana who was in the Navy, so we lived in Idaho, Maine, and Connecticut. My husband was killed in a car accident, and then I moved back to WPB for a couple of years, went to PBJC, played softball and majored in photography, almost got married again, but decided instead to become a ski instructor, so moved to Kilington Vermont where I spent the next 8 years between there and Nantucket in the summer, waitressing, bartending, and working at a summer camp as assistant director.
In 1993 I met and married a man who went to school at John I Leonard, graduated in 1985. We moved to Traverse City, MI where we had two beautiful little girls. We unfortunately got divorced soon after the birth of our youngest daughter. I am now living in Old Town Florida, (about 45 miles west of Gainesville) at my mothers, after her husband died at about the same time as my divorce. I work at home doing medical transcription and I love being a mom. That is the best job I have ever had, although ski instructor comes a close second.
About two years ago I bought a four bedroom mobile home and put it on my mothers property. We now have our own space, but are still there to help each other out. Much better. I also got a job in Gainesville about an hours drive from home, so juggling kids and work is a challenge, but my mom helps.
I was planning on coming to the class of 76 reunion this Sept. but turns out that my nephew is getting married the weekend before that, so we will be down then. I guess I will have to see you all next year.
