Today's Featured Biography
Dr. Pamela Lightsey
After graduation I joined the army with hopes of going to school while in the service. They never allowed that. While in the military, I married a soldier, had two children (girl and boy) and did about 16 years civil service work as we traveled around the world. We divorced in 1994 and I finally went back to school with the encouragement of my church family. Completed my PhD in 2005 from Garrett Seminary which is located on the campus of Northwestern University in Illinois. I am an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church with an appointment as Associate Dean, Boston University, School of Theology. My scholarship is in the area of ethics with specific expertise in just war theory. My children are adults. I have one grandson by my daughter. My hobbies include racquetball, photography, listening to music: R & B, hip-hop (yes, that's right), gospel and jazz. I relax with a nice glass of merlot a novel or a movie. I describe myself as a critical thinker with a thug mentality. I enjoy having fun, avoid pretentious people and believe it's a sacred act to never forget where you come from.
