Dear Classreport users: We are one of the premiere social networking websites dating back to 2003. We are a small, family owned and operated business with less than 15 staff but freely host over a million class websites. Classreport holds a special place in the hearts of our users: Bravos. We are funded solely through your voluntary contributions. Despite our small size we have the same costs as any other site: servers, security, software, and staff. So now we ask for your support. If everyone reading this gave $15, our fundraiser would be over in one day. If Classreport is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online and ad-free for another year. Thank you. Barry Brown

After high school I attended Nebraska Vocational School at Milford, NE where I studied Autobody Technology. I came back to Alliance in 1962 and started to work at Borrorís Chevrolet. In 1963 I met and married my wife, Rachel. She was from Lodgepole, NE but was in Alliance taking the LPN training course at the hospital. Later in 1963 we moved to Scottsbluff where I worked for Kizzierís Chevrolet and Rachel worked for Regional West Hospital. In December of that year my wifeís father & brother were killed in a car/train accident in Lodgepole, NE. My mother-in-law then moved back to Greensboro, North Carolina where her father and mother lived. Our first child, Wanda, was born in 1965. Since Rachel was homesick for her mother and employment was scarce we decided to move to North Carolina in 1966. I then went to work for North State Chevrolet in Greensboro, NC. Our second child, Timothy, was born that same year. Our third & forth children were; Rick, 1968, and Rebecca, 1970. We had moved to my wifeís inherited property at Sophia, NC later in 1966. I soon found my commute to Greensboro was lengthy so I changed jobs to Thomas Built Busses in High Point, NC. I stayed there for four years before seeing greener pastures elsewhere. (Young & stupid) I then started to work in the industrial maintenance field at Flyback Toy Company. I worked there for about four years after which I worked two years at Styrex Industries, injected molding parts. In the meanwhile, Rachel had obtained her North Carolina LPN license and was working at Wesleyan Arms, a large retirement complex in High Point, NC. Rachel had told me they were looking to hire additional maintenance workers so I applied and was hired. I had only been there about 6 months when I was promoted to Director of Maintenance when the previous director decided to retire. In 1976 we sold our farm with 10 acres and moved into High Point. During my 12 Ĺ years at Wesleyan Arms I realized I should have more education so I enrolled at our local community college pursuing an associate Electrical Engineering degree which took me seven years to complete part time. I had also started an air condensing/ heating business that I ran part-time. In 1989 I left Wesleyan Arms to pursue my own business but I soon found it was not as good as a steady paycheck.

In 1993 I started to work at Mannington Wood Floors as an electrical maintenance crew leader. After they opened the new Mannington Laminate Floor plant in 1999, I transferred to this plant. In 2002 they offered me the job of Maintenance Purchasing Agent which I took until my retirement in 2008. Rachel started to work, as a Program Manager, for the High Point Housing Authority in 1996 but continued part-time at Wesleyan Arms unit 2000. She manages several federal programs that help the elderly stay in their apartments rather than going into nursing homes. Also in 1999 the state took our house for a road that was to be the intercity loop around downtown High Point, mostly because of the spring and fall furniture markets conjunction in the downtown area. We then purchased our present home just outside of Thomasville, NC.

Our oldest daughter, Wanda graduated from college with an associate degree in accounting. She married a CPA and they now have their own CPA firm in Salisbury, NC. They have two children, Andrew, 18, and Sarah, 15. Our oldest son, Timothy started taking electrical engineering in college but changed to computer networking. He is now the service manager for a commercial drafting printer company. His wife, Donna, home schoolís their two children, Joseph, 11, & Ellen, 9. Plus Donna works part-time in the heart cath lab of High Point Regional Hospital. Our middle son, Rick, is driving a truck for Shuler Meats in Thomasville, NC. He usually makes three or four trips a week down to Georgia to pick up meat. Heís now in his second marriage with Gloria. From his first marriage he has seven children, Julie, 22, Jessica, 19, Christopher, 18, Cameron, 16, Kasie, 11, Samantha, 8, & Brandon, 5. Our youngest daughter, Becca, is a stay-at-home mom. She has had two failed marriages which gave us four more grandchildren, Colton, 22, Alex, 19, Dillon, 18, & Chyanna, 11. Before she started having back problems, she had worked in the accounting department at Wal Mart in Greensboro, NC. As you can see our house is filled to the brim with our kids, grandkids, and their friends most holidays. Our oldest grandson, Colton, has lived with us most of his life plus we have three of our granddaughters now spend most weekends with us. They love to go to church with us on Sundays. There canít understand why they canít live with Grandma & Grandpa all the time. I think Grandma has them spoiled because Grandpas donít do things like that. Ha, Ha. Iím still quite busy since I retired. I continue to fill the office as our church treasurer since 1985, try to keep up the maintenance at our home, our church, and our childrenís homes, Iíve been doing some appliance repairs, and continue to do a lot of woodworking projects. When we bought our house here in Davidson County, I lost my workshop that was in the basement of our old house, so I constructed a 16í by 40í two story workshop/storage building with an office in one end of the upstairs. My downstairs workshop is 16í by 24í, and the rest is storage. When we were raising money for our church fellowship hall I built and sold about 50 wooden mantel clocks. Iíve enjoyed reading what is going in all of your lives but Iím not too sure if weíll be able to make it to the 50th reunion. I really appreciate all the work everyone is doing to pull this reunion together and especially Sharon for all of her communicating to make this possible. If any of you make it out this way we would love to have you drop by.
