I graduated from Washington College in 1991 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Music. After some time off from academia, I started a PhD in Microbiology/Immunology at Thomas Jefferson University. Started. Never finished ;) 1994 kind of sucked—I quit school, lost my dad, and got dumped within a month, but I eventually bounced back, and after some temping I accidentally fell into a job that paved the way for the career I have now.
I’ve been working in pharmaceutical research and development since 1995, and since 2003 I’ve been with Falcon Consulting Group, Exton, PA. We offer auditing, consulting, training, process improvement and computer system validation services to small- to mid-sized pharma and biotech companies around the country.
My job keeps me on the road about 50% of the time, primarily traveling to locations within the continental US and Canada, although I've also had the opportunity to work in Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Chile, Guatemala, Paraguay, Argentina, and the UK in the past couple of years. I started studying Spanish again about 2 years ago, and was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity by my company to go to Madrid for 2 weeks in October 2006 to study. It was a fantastic experience, and I’d love to go back and spend more time to become completely fluent.
In my spare time I try to keep my little house in Norristown from falling around my ears, and I am "mom" to two kitties—Lovey (15 and neurotic) and Trixie (finally calming down after turning 3). I am shamefully addicted to bad reality TV and true crime stories, but I still read a lot and see enough live music and theatre to counteract it :) I played in the Alumni Band for several years, but had to give it up once I moved a little further south and started traveling more. I sang in a local community choir for a few years, and would love to get involved in community theatre, but the travel thing gets in the way! I do manage to take conversational Spanish classes at the local community college, and am hoping to be somewhat fluent by the time I'm 40--which is not that far away, eek!
Despite the whole reunion extravaganza actually happening, it still seems completely impossible that it's been 20 years(21 if you're really counting), and I'm STILL waiting for my recount, because I sure don't feel that old :) Looking ahead to our 25th in 2012--anyone for a cruise??
