Hellow my fellow friends and Classmates of 1987! Man, I can't believe it's been that long.
As many of you already know, Diane Samaripa, another one of our Classmates, and I got married in April 1996. We have two beautiful children, Carrissa (8) and Nathan (4), and we live about four (4) miles east of Manor, Texas, on a small 12 1/2 acre Ranchette. I work for the City of Austin's Corporate Human Resources Department as Employee Relations Specialist, and Diane works for the State of Texas, Texas Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) as an Accounting Manager. After commuting into Austin five (5) days a week to work, Diane, the kids and I really enjoy living out on our small spread enjoying the quite, peaceful country life.
The kids our life, and Diane and I both stay fairly active and involved in the community and with our kids' activites. Diane currently serves on the Manor Elementary School's PTO Board, and I am a Commissioner with Travis County Emergency Service District (ESD) #12 that oversees the EMS and Fire protection of the eastern portion of Travis County. For the past three (3) years, I have been active as a T-Ball and Softball Coach for the Manor Youth Association (MYA). I am also a part-time Hobby Rancher/Farmer, specializing in raising very, very expensive miniature cattle.
Of course, living out in the county, we also have a horse and a dog, but no pigs and/or chickens - Diane wouldn't allow that.
Other than what I have shared with you already, there is really noth much going on. Bottom line - Diane and I are basically blessed, working hard, enjoying life, and trying to raise a decent family... You know, that "American Dream" stuff. We also like hanging out with our families and friends.
I can't wait to see everyone, and you all please feel free to call us whenever. Please don't wait until the Class Reunion next year.
For those of you who are wondering, "No," Diane and I didn't date in High School, nor did we have a thing going on. I'm just glad that God sent the "Best Thing" that ever happened to me back to little old Manor, Texas, after she graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. If it wasn't for Diane, I honestly don't know where I would be today.
