I've been on a special journey with my wife, Marcia, for the last 34 years. We've lived across the U.S., having gone to college in upstate NY, then lived in Chicago for four years, Detroit for two, San Francisco for six year where I did a graduate degree program, Washington, D.C. for one year, Virginia Beach for six years, Long Island, NY for six years, and now ten years in the Houston, Texas area. The moves have been part of a call to serve in ministry, the last ten years with a focus on serving regions of Asia.
I'm currently the president of The Great Commission Coalition, a ministry building citywide partnerships in the West with some of the most challenging regions of the world. One of the partnerships connects Houston with the nation of Indonesia. Another connects New York City with a state in Northern India.
My current role involves a lot of travel and a whole lot of networking. I've been to Asia more than 30 times in the last 10 years, a place that has captured my heart. Did you know that 6 out of 10 people on earth live in Asia? It would be great fun to help others from my class make the connection. Any interest out there? Troy Muljat, my nephew with the Muljat Group in B'ham, was with me on a trip to Indonesia last year. He can fill you in.
Prior to this current role, I served as pastor in both the Chicago and New York City areas. Between these assignments I worked for almost 15 years with the Christian Broadcasting Network, holding several positions including vice president of the ministries division.
Marcia and I have two adult children who are married, Brian and Carrie. We also have two grandchildren, Liam and Hannah. Hum, guess I'll have to post some pics.
