Today's Featured Biography
Rhonda Yawn Honegger
What a life I've had so far! We left Misawa and moved to San Antonio where my Dad retired and I graduated high school. After a floundering start at college and a brief disastrous marriage, I went in the Navy and worked in the weather field. The Navy took me all over the world (again!). My first tour was in Guam where I traveled to Japan, Korea and the Philippines. I married a Marine (Rob) in Guam and we transferred to Hawaii where we were blessed with our daughter Riley. Hawaii was beautiful and a wonderful adventure despite the hardship of having Rob gone all the time on deployment (Marines have no mercy!) Rob left the Marines during Gulf War 1 and I transferred to NAS Corpus Christi, TX. Unfortunately, the repeated deployments took their toll on our marriage and we decided it was best to go our separate ways. It was sad to see an 8 year relationship end but we remain friends and support each other as parents of Riley to this day. I decided to return the school and make plans to leave the Navy. Right before I got out, my world was turned upside down when I met a wonderful fellow sailor who swept me and my firmly planted... "I can't imagine ever getting married again" mentality off my feet. Shortly after I left the Navy we were married and Harold became the center support in my life. He was my rock while I completed my bachelors at Texas A & M Kingsville and still makes me smile when he walks through the door . We lived in Corpus Christi for 3 years and then Harold was transferred to Norfolk. We lived in Suffolk, Virginia where we were blessed with our little ball of energy, Madeline. Next we transferred to the Washington DC area where I worked for the EPA and then started my own business advising non-profit organizations on how to manage their federal grants. We were in DC for 9/11/01 and lost some co-workers in the attack. We were so immersed in the after effects and were both changed tremendously by our experiences. Now we live in Williamsburg Virginia and Harold is wrapping up his Navy career and I am happily plugging away at my business and keeping the kids on a straigh and narrow path. I love anything creative and spend every free moment I can either cooking, painting, knitting, or designing anything that moves me. I really look forward to our reunions with all my Misawa chums who have come to mean so much to me over the years! Now I not only have my childhood memories, I have adult (if you can call us that when we get together!) memories too!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
