After graduating from Central High, a group of us started our collegiate stint at Alabama A&M University (Sharm, Red, Walt, Goot, Blue, Reggie, Gip, Darrell, and Hawk(Me)). Can you say PARTY! DON'T TELL ME YOU DON'T REMEMBER THE OLD GYM! We represented the PC well. Realizing that football was not in the plan for me, I transferred to Tuskegee University where I received my B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduating I came home to rest for a while before attempting to move to Texas. NOT!!! I guess I shouldn’t have come back home. I've been here ever since. I landed a job at KYSOR//WARREN in Columbus, GA as an Engineer. I enrolled at Columbus State University during this time and received my M.S. Degree in Computer Science. I changed my profession to Software Development. I did a 3 year stint at TSYS before moving over to AFLAC as a Software Developer. I've also done a tour (2-1/2 years) at Columbus Technical College as an Adjunct Instructor of Information Technology, (This wore me out, so I had to let that go). I would love to teach in the future. Patricia and I were married on August 14, 2004 and we had our son Richard Jr. on December 19, 2005. In all of this I managed to learn how to play the keyboard by ear (I stopped learning how to read music after that 6th grade band class); I'm now also a Musician and Choir Director at The Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where Rev. Charlie Sanders (Classmate) is the Pastor. Things could always be better (win the lottery - LOL), but I've been truly blessed and wouldn't change anything. All praises be to GOD!!!
