Today's Featured Biography
Rae Warren Millerd
In 1987 I married my best friend, Stanley Millerd. I worked for the Arkansas Supreme Court for 8.5 years and then went to work for the Public Defender Commission for 2 years before moving to Marion from Maumelle. In 1989 we had our first child, David. In 1994 we had our second child, Rebekah. In 1995 my husband changed jobs to work for the Commercial Appeal in Memphis, TN, so we loaded up and moved to Marion, AR in November 1995. I then went to work for Ernst & Young in Memphis for 2 years. I was then offered a position with Armstrong Allen law firm and have worked for James McLaren for almost 10 years. Last year (2006) our firm dissolved and my attorney along with 14 others opened a new office of the law firm of Adams and Reese which originated in New Orleans. In 2003, my mother, Brenda, passed away after 11 years of fighting colon cancer. She was 59 years old. David will be graduating from Marion High School on May 18, 2007 and has received a band scholarship to the University of Arkansas where he will attend this fall. Rebekah plays basketball and volleyball for her school and will be in 8th grade in the fall. My sister, Kelly, still lives in North Little Rock and is married to Todd Chandler and has 3 children, T.J., Andrew and Kate.
Stanley and I, as well as our children, are very involved in our church, Marion First Baptist and are all active in FAITH Sunday School Evangelism. David and I will be going to New York (first time for me) the first week in June on a mission trip while Stanley and Rebekah will be on a mission trip in Dallas, TX the same week. The main downer for us being separated is that Rebekah will turn 13 (the big teenager) while we are on our trips. One question we ask during FAITH is "In your personal opinion, what do you understand it takes for a person to go to heaven?" I look forward to our next reunion. I hope our class president steps up to the plate and gets it organized and schedule.
