I attended Arizona State University after graduating from BHS in 1968. During my freshman year, I performed with the ASU Sun Devil marching band as a bass drummer.
After Graduation:
I graduated in 1975 with a BS in Aeronautical Technology, and obtained employment at Garrett AiResearch where I worked for 24 years as a Technical Writer. I moved on to become a Configuration Analyst where I remained until I retired in 2015 from Honeywell.
Post-Retirement:
In March 2015, Barb and I traveled to Selma, Alabama to walk with thousands of others across the Edmund Pittus bridge where 50 years prior Martin Luther King had walked during the Civil Rights movement.
Volunteering:
I became active with my neighbors in the Clark Park community garden and subsequently in the Clark Park Farmers' Market, where I continue to help out.
I spend most of my time volunteering with the non-profit Tempe Neighbors Helping Neighbors organization helping provide services to seniors such as transportation, social visits, technology, and yard maintenance. I was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award this month by the City of Tempe for my involvement.
We continue to travel, especially to Seattle, WA to visit our older son and his family. The week before our reunion, we will have vacationed in New York to enjoy a tour of the city's architectural sites as members of the OpenHouseNYC society. And take in a musical or play.
