After graduation, I worked briefly for the phone company before attending the U of A. I got my degree in mathematics and taught math for 6years while obtaining my masters degree in counselling and was a school counsellor for 2 years. I then attended law school, worked as a judicial clerk for the Arizona Court of Appeals, a large Phoenix law firm, and the Pima County Attorneys Office. I then settled in as a shareholder at the DeConcini law firm until I was appointed to the bench in 1997. I was on the court a little more than 15 years until I retired in 2012.
On a personal level, I have been married twice, and am currently single. I have four brilliant and beautiful daughters and, so far, three awesome grandchildren. I live with a tall, dark, handsome (and furry) guy named Figaro who is almost finished with his formal training as a service dog. Although I am retired, I continue to volunteer with a program that provides legal services and access to justice to people who cannot afford an attorney.
I truly look forward to seeing all of you on October.
