I have just made my 23rd move and 5th state, Whew!!
Future thinking in high school was not something I spent time on. Dec '68 a solid life gut punch leaves you breathless, but truly gets your attention. Reality check, get my 14 yr old sister through high school. Worked briefly as clerk typist for STRATCOM Fort Huachucha before leaving Bisbee permanently.
Jun '71 AA from Mesa Community College then transferred to ASU Phys Ed. Jun '72 my sister graduates from high school and turns 18 yrs.
I have reunited with and marry (BHS '67 grad) Steve Lopez, '72-'79. Worked with Sears for six yrs. Shipping, receiving, quality and inventory control. Did some international travel: Victoria, BC, Xochimilco and Mexico City, London, Tehran, Bankok, Singapore, Hong Kong.
Aug '80 connected with fledgling health club industry. Family Fitness Centers of Southern Calif. New skills to learn, guerilla marketing, formal sales and corporate business. Responsibilites - sales, hire, teach, train and expand. Repeat multi times and new territories. Went from sales to mgr, dist mgr then to ownership. '81 started dappling in real estate. '83 married Steve Piszkin.
Jul '96 major corporate buy out, merger and reorganization. New Name: 24 Hour Fitness. I became certified (3) Personal Trainer and Rehab and Corrective Stretching Specilist.
May '04 semi retire to assist family and handle real estate, another life gut punch.
Feb '08 went to work in the disability community providing Custom Rehab Power Mobility Equipment.
Jun '17 fully retired.
Built modest retirement home on 5 acres just north of Taos, NM on the "Enchanted Circle".
Just plan to hang out with my husband and dogs. Hike the woods enjoy all the abundance of wildlife the serenity of my surroundings and big open skies.
